7 Things

1. I am a storyteller. Although I have concentrated the last few years on the directing side, I began my journey as an actor, which I feel is part of my strength as a director — I know the actor language.

2. I have a nickname — the soulreader.

3. I love to inspire, collaborate, share my knowledge. To me generousity is the key. I love to give back.

4. I have worked with Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG, César and Goya Award winners. I’m working on building that list.

5. My biggest influences are Tennessee Williams, Ingmar Bergman, Sam Shepard, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Jeff Buckley, and Terrence Malik.

6. Wine. Rioja. Brunello. Bordeaux. Burgundy. Barolo. Barbaresco. In no particular order. Emphasis on age. Gifts accepted.

7. I am insane for Flamenco. Insane. It represents what I feel in my soul about life. It’s the Duende.

Award winning writer-director Jordan Bayne is no stranger to working with A-list talent. Her career began as an actor working with Golden Globe winner Martin Sheen in A STRANGER IN THE KINGDOM and again with Sheen in MERCY OF THE SEA . Her television career started with Showtime’s Poltergeist The Legacy, and she has also been seen on the critically acclaimed Law & Order. Her first role in the theatre landed her onstage with Golden Globe winner James Gandolfini and Oscar winner Marisa Tomei in the Naked Angels production of SUMMERWINDS. Bayne had an award nominated turn in the independent film UNDER HELLGATE BRIDGE with Dominick Chianese and Vincent Pastore where one critic noted, ”Jordan Bayne proves that true strength lies in vulnerability.”

Bayne’s writing and directorial debut was the short film ARGO, starring Jordana Spiro [My Boys, Good Wife]. Her critically acclaimed film THE SEA IS ALL I KNOW, an extraordinary story of love in the face of death, starring Academy Award winner Melissa Leo had its World Premiere at the Palm Springs International ShortFest where it was voted by the audience as Best of Fest. Leo, who has recently described Bayne as “one of the finest directors I have ever worked with”, has taken home three Best Actress Awards for her performance in the film. The film itself was recently awarded Best Short Film at the Cincinnati Film Festival as well as the Post Alley Film Festival and was in consideration for an Academy Award. In 2016 the film landed distribution with IndieFlix after becoming a Vimeo Staff Pick.

Bayne has an unbridled passion for making films that are original, meaningful, and is deeply committed to telling stories of consequence. She is currently in pre production on her feature film THE UNTITLED JORDAN BAYNE PROJECT, produced by Emmy Award winner Ash Christian, and Sundance and Independent Spirit Award winner Anne Clements.
